Films 15/08/26

Once again, I saw 3 interesting, worthwhile films this weekend..
'Deli Man' link is a doc about Ziggy Gruber - the deli man...80 or more years ago there were more than 20,000 Jewish delis in the USA...Today there are only a few hundred left....A heartwarming film.
“Deli Man” documents the story of Ziggy Gruber, who trained as a world-class chef in France and runs a successful deli in Texas. Photo: Handout / McClatchy-Tribune News Service / TNS

'Slow West' link is a kind of poetic Western, shot in New Zealand by a Scottish director...It seemingly exposes the cruelty and bestiality of the inhabitants....A young Scottish lad (of higher birth), is attempting to find his 'true love' who is on the lam, and hiding out....He is tracked by bounty hunters who want to kill her for the money...Hint: everyone in the cast except 2 die in shoot outs...Still it is a very interesting film.

'Merchants of Doubt' link is a doc about who and what interests are behind the casting of doubt about scientific evidence of Climate Change, etc.....Very  taut and revealing!
